QHS soccer started in the fall of 1974 with Mario Camacho as the head coach. Over the last 40+ years, seven different coaches have guided the Blue Devils and two of those coaches were for 1 year only. Longevity in coaches has helped build QHS into one of the most respected programs in downstate Illinois and recently on a national level.
The Blue Devils have reached the State Quarter-Finals six times, placing 4th in 1995 and runner-up in 2015. That team was inducted into the QHS Hall of fame in 2009. Over the years, 69 players have received all-sectional honors and 27 have made all-state.
Ron Bridal is currently the coach of the Blue Devils, named in December of 2016. Ron is a former Blue Devil who holds program records for most shutouts in a career (39), most shutouts in a season (17), and fewest goals allowed in a season (7).
The QHS soccer program has enjoyed success on the field over the years. The Blue Devils have won nearly 70% of their games in school history and the start of the playoffs of the 2015 season marked the programs 600th.
The Blue Devils have dominated the Western Big 6 conference having won 25 titles in the 30 years of existence.
